Dogs and Exercise
Sometimes when I am out and about doing my daily errands I see people walking or jogging with their dogs and I think, "Good for them", they just arent exercising themselves but getting their pet some exercise as well. I see a lot of overweight dogs who are confined to dog kennels or just being cooped up in the house all day and I get frustrated because I know that dogs NEED to run, catch a ball or just be outside and walk around. Granted, some dogs are more lazy than others but I think too many people rush into getting a specific breed of dog because it is "cool" or "cute". Next time you think about getting a dog how about you consider if that dog will match the type of lifestyle you lead,,,,

Topics Coming Soon to the Dog Blog Cafe
In the coming weeks watch for breaking Dog Blog Cafe news tidbits as we go behind clothing for dogs and are dog strollers really necessary? leather or nylon dog collars? Is premium dog food really better than generic store dog food? Best breeds of dogs for families, what stores are dog friendly, seat belts for dogs? What to look for in a good Vet, and we will uncover, why do Chihuahuas shiver so much? Stay tuned for answers to these and more,,,,,,
This is my own personal dog, "Oreo", she is a Boston Terrier who is a terrific dog, shes smart, eager to please and as you can tell from the picture, spoiled. Boston Terriers are great family dogs, they are good with kids, low maintenance and they actually do not bark. Bostons were the very FIRST breed to be admitted to the AKC in 1893. Presidents Harding and Ford both had Boston Terriers as well as Helen Keller. They do snore and snort often, they are animated and just funny little dogs. They are one of my favorite breeds of dogs!

Top Dog Names
I've run into a lot of interesting dog names over the years through my clients. I've watched two Beagles named "Vegas" and "Tipsy", two Chihuahuas named "Gin" and "Tonic" and even two dogs named "Max" and "Ruby". People love being clever with dog names. My Boston Terrier is named "Oreo", my kids named her because she looks like an Oreo cookie being black and white and all. I'd thought I'd give my readers a list of the top 10 male dog names and top 10 female dog names as of today according to Google, many of these are the "traditional" dog names that im sure we all know someone furry by,,,,,,wait, arent many of our kids named these names? Hmm.
